Enjoy breakfast beachside
It's been around for awhile now as a fine dining hotspot for lunch and dinner, but the Middle Brighton Baths have recently undergone an interior redesign and menu revamp. While the cafe downstairs has always been a popular choice for those enjoying the beachy esplanade, now you can head upstairs on the weekends to the new-look restaurant for a sophisticated menu and a view to match.

Inside, the new design is fresh and coastal to match its beach front location and on weekends from 7:30am until midday diners can now relax and indulge in a few of the chef's signature breakfast dishes such as smoked salmon scrambled eggs with watercress, and the quinoa porridge with pieces of poached pear and fresh honeycomb (below).

We also sussed out the sweet corn fritters with roasted Roma tomato and sautéed spinach (below). If you aren't keen on a big breakfast, it's also the perfect spot to bring the paper, soak up the sunshine and enjoy looking out over the water with a great cup of coffee, smoothie and a pastry from the kitchen's collection of fresh pastries and doughnuts.

It's an ideal spot for a weekend breakfast, especially if you're keen to avoid the weekend cafe breakfast queues and perfect for family breakfasts (i.e. treat your mum or nan), or a breakfast where you want to be able to chat with your dining companion. And the best bit, they also take bookings (how unlike Melbourne!)
