Salut!
The historical Old Chidlow Hall will be adorned in blue, white and red for a Long Table Dinner in celebration of Bastille Day in July.
Bastille Day is celebrated on July 14th and is the celebration of French National Day (La Fête nationale). The day commemorates the Storming of the Bastille; the beginning of the French Revolution in 1789.
Local Hills resident, Emmanuelle, is planning a simple and warm evening of entertainment to honour the country of her birth and observe the day. All funds raised will be donated to the Chidlow Progress Foundation whose members are working tirelessly to bring the historic hall back to glory.
Live music (including accordion) will accompany the voices raised in song and there will be led folk dancing – for the brave! You will also be welcome to take a rest and enjoy a virtual visit through the Beaujolais and other parts of France.
Dinner will be a delightfully rustic collaboration of French fare with everyone in attendance required to bring a French platter to share. Soups, salads, main course, cheese or desserts of French pedigree can all be found on Google. Be inventivité!
Due to the cosy space, bookings are absolutely essential.
Come along on 14th July from 6.30pm onwards (dinner at 7pm) then singing and dancing until 10pm.
The cost is $10 per adult, children are welcome to attend and Under 12's are only $5.
If you cannot attend but would like to donate to the Chidlow Progress Association to help them save this significant landmark you can contact Emmanuelle for details. For further information about Bastille Day Celebrations or to book, please contact Emmanuelle through this writer

The Chidlow Progress Association is based in Chidlow. You can visit Chidlow via the internet
here but it's best to take a drive up the hill for the day.
