A group of students from Victoria University, studying Event Management and Music Industry Management as part of their Bachelor of Business, are very excited (and also a little bit nervous) to be putting on their first live event.
The event, Bass Race-Locate the Place, is the final assessment for a unit in their course called Live Performance Management and they have been planning and organising this event all semester.
The Scavenger Hunt starts at the Bay City Burrito, a Mexican restaurant and one of the sponsors of the event, where registration takes place and guidelines to the race are given. If you feel hungry there is always a delicious burrito and other yummy food to be had to ensure you don't run out of stamina.
The first clue is given out and it's off through St Kilda looking for the next pit stop. At each pit stop, there are prizes and the next clue. With a neon theme racers will be hard to miss and will certainly add a colourful addition to St Kilda's early evening ambience.
The biggest prize, of course, is to find the secret location where 2 local bands, One more weekend and Calling Utopia will be performing. The winning team will be treated to a prize and some free drinks and of course the accolades of finding the "treasure".
Even though the treasure (the music venue) has been found, an evening of music and fun still awaits. What could be better than an evening in St Kilda, preceded by some scavenging activity, followed by cool music? Oh, maybe a schnitzel at Schnitz and perhaps pancakes in the morning at the Pancake Parlour, both generous supporters of the event.
So go on have some fun, dress up in your neons and support the students in their first live event. The event takes place on 15th October from 6.30pm - until 10.30 pm. You can also purchase tickets to the music venue only ($10) and the secret venue will be sent via sms. You can book tickets through this link.
