Roses and flowers to enchant and delight the senses
For anyone who likes roses and flowers the 2016 Barossa Rose and Flower Show is a must attend event.
The show will be held in the St Paul's Lutheran Church Hall on the corner of Murray Street and Basedow Road, Tanunda and will be open to the public from 12 noon to 5 pm on Saturday 29th October and from 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday 30th October. It promises a sensory feast for visitors with many exhibits of roses, cut flowers, floral arrangements and displays.
The official opening and the presentation of awards to the winners will take place at 1.00 pm on the Saturday. Channel 9 is supporting the show and a personality from Channel 9 will open the show and present the awards.
The competitive events include sections for children, giving them an opportunity to express their imagination whilst still keeping within guidelines. A colouring competition is also offered for children and all entries will be on display at the show with the winners receiving medallions at the official opening.
Outside the hall a variety of trade stalls will be selling plants and plant related products and the local CFS will be in attendance. Refreshments provided by the Church ladies will be available for purchase with part proceeds going towards assisting the Pinery fire victims to re-establish their gardens.
Admission to the Barossa Rose and Flower Show is $5.00 per person. The venue is wheelchair friendly and toilets are available. Cars can be parked in a parking area a short distance behind the hall on Basedow Street and in nearby streets.
