Barossa Christmas Parade, Tanunda has it all figured out on how to welcome Santa to the Barossa. A Christmas themed parade and street party should do it every time! Friday 7 December 2018 is the day and date (parade from 7pm), and you're invited between 5-10pm to come celebrate. Community groups on many floats and five bands take part in a parade that's the biggest advent event in the valley and looked forward to eagerly each year. Santa and his sleigh will be in the town square after the parade.
There'll be a variety of food vendors serving up a lot of deliciousness, including German Christmas food from 5pm. Free bouncy castles and animal displays, plus pony rides ($5 per ride) and baby farm animals to cuddle are the order of the day. That should keep the kids happy. Free face painting (small designs only) will be available on the lawn outside the Visitor Centre in the Tanunda Town Square. Small designs of Henna will also be available in the Rotunda facility at the northern end of the main street, as Talia from T Green Art joins the party with her henna stall.
Amrabull Park from Nuriootpa will be there again with their highland bull and exotic poultry behind the Visitors Centre in the carpark, so wander over and say hello. Animals Anonymous will bring lizards, small mammals, birds and even a baby croc and a python. Don't worry, there'll be fluffy animals of the cute kind too. A family-friendly event, stay in touch via the Facebook page for updates.
