The Barmera Country Club is an immensely popular venue for families, groups and sporting clubs. It features fully self-contained rooms, a golf course, seasonal swimming pool and tennis courts. Outside each group of rooms is an undercover barbecue area with picnic table, seats and working barbecue.

Situated off Hawdon Street, Barmera, the Barmera Country Club is close to the shores of Lake Bonney. Rooms start at around $102 mid-week and range up to $160 for a deluxe room on the weekend. However, it is worth keeping this venue bookmarked because in their off-season they may offer amazing discounts. I got a pre-spring special (on the first of September) for around $80.
The room I stayed in also had a real kitchen, with sink, microwave, crockery and a number of small useful items. Many places promise "kitchenette", however, very few deliver, and one is lucky to find a place that has more than a kettle provided.
