Climb, slide, run and explore in Hope Valley
Tucked into the North-Eastern suburb of Hope Valley is the Barmera Avenue/Waikerie Avenue Playground and Reserve. This generous space has a lot to offer all year round. Check out the location map here.

The playground is clean, in excellent condition and boasts something for all ages. For the little ones, there's a train bouncer, toddler swing, steering wheels and small slide.

Bouncy train.

The older kids can spin themselves dizzy on the self-powered merry-go-round, test their skills on the rock climbing wall or ladder and rope climbs. There's also a larger slide and regular sized swing.

Don't get too dizzy!

Lots to keep the kids busy.

A low retaining wall circles half of the playground ideal for jumping off, sitting on or walking along. Bark chips make any stumbles less painful.

The grassed area is large, with plenty of room for ball games or just having a runaround. Native shrubs are clustered around the park great for exploring, hide and seek or collecting interesting seeds and pods.

Plenty of room for ball games or running free.

A cement path runs through the park, making bike and scooter rides smooth.
A table and bench seats are located under the trees for a shady picnic or rest. There's another seat looking out onto the grassed area. The park also has two lights and rubbish bins.

Swings for both the little and big people.

For bird-lovers, we observed galahs feeding on the grass seeds and racing pigeons flying in formation nearby. The park is situated on a flight path for those who enjoy plane-spotting.

The entire park is fenced, but not gated. However, the playground is situated well inside the park, making supervision easier. Dogs are allowed but must be leashed at all times.

It's an ideal place for a play or a few moments of rest and reflection.
