Whether you're a local or travelling in the NorthernTerritory, you shouldn't miss the action-packed Barkly Rodeo, one of the region's largest social events. To be held at the Tennant Creek Rodeo Grounds on
Thursday 11th July, the gates open at 5.30pm and the action starts at 6.00pm until late.
The evenings' events are:
Manns Cattle Transport Open Saddle Bronc
Murranji Water Drilling Open Bull Ride
Mitech Bullock Ride
5B Bucking String Station Buck Jump
Barkly Plumbing Services Poddy Ride
As well as all the excitement in the arena, the clowns, the atmosphere, there's a licenced bar, food stalls and entertainment. Plus a competition for the best dancer.
So break out your best cowboy/cowgirl boots, hats and belt buckles and come along.
And plan to stay around for the
Tennant Creek Show which is on the next day, Friday 12th July.

Getting there:
Tennant Creek is located on the Stuart Highway approximately 1,000 kilometres south of Darwin and 500 kilometres north of Alice Springs.
Tennant Creek Rodeo Grounds are located within the Tennant Creek Racecourse complex.
