These school holidays, enter the magical woods and enjoy a strikingly original retelling of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, Hansel and Gretel.
Barking Gecko Theatre Company is proudly presenting 'In a Dark Dark Wood' at Prendiville College Performing Arts Centre on 27 September 2016 (two performances only).
Written by Caleb Lewis and directed by Matt Edgerton, this contemporary retelling of Hansel and Gretel centres on Pippa and her little brother, Mo, who live in a caravan at the edge of the woods.
Since Dad hurt his back cutting wood, the family has struggled to make ends meet. But though they may be poor, the children are gifted with a rich imagination.
After Pippa gets the worst birthday present ever, she packs her belongings and takes off into the woods, with little brother Mo hot on her heels. Together they discover a world with no rules and endless ice cream! But all is not what it seems.
Pippa and Mo will have to call on all of their imaginative powers to escape!
This theatre production will delight children aged 6 and above. The runtime is approximately 60 minutes.
Performances will be held on 27 September 2016 at 10.30am and 1.30pm.
Tickets are now on sale through Trybooking and priced $15.30 pp or $51.20 for a family pass. To purchase tickets, please visit Trybooking.
