Not just a pretty face
Breakfast, lunch or coffee, Barista and Cook is the newest coffee brewer and eatery on Bourke Street in Waterloo. It's trendy and light-filled with high ceilings and plenty of seating options.

As well as a perfect espresso from Gypsie coffee, the Barista and Cook offers cold drip, Chemex, V60 Pour Over and a coffee ice cream slider.

The menu is seasonally focussed with most of everything made in-house using locally sourced products, offering clean and healthy options with a few 'naughties' thrown in as well.

The Breakfast Menu has some very unusual offerings including 'Smoked Trout Kedgeree', 'Char Grilled Pork Belly', 'Grilled Mac 'n' Cheese Toastie' and 'Steel Cut Oats'.

There are also smoothies and decadent milkshakes with flavours like 'Peanut butter, dark chocolate and black sesame' or 'Mixed Berry and Coconut'.

Furry families are welcome too.

The food is beautifully presented and staff are attentive and efficient. It's a very funky place to visit with a special section outside for ones furry family too.

It's well worth a visit and with coffee available from 6am weekdays, it's a great place to stop over for your first morning brew.
