A gallery exhibition in the heart of Annerley Junction
A slightly risque and beautifully executed exhibition of works by fibre artist Felicity Clarke are being installed this week at Handmade High Street in Annerley. On Friday night you can go along and meet the artist, have a glass of bubbly and purchase some of the amazing works which feature burlesque dancers and other female forms in exquisite machine-sewn detail.
Felicity has been many things in her artistic life including a teddy bear maker, felter, seamstress and teacher. Her abilities are wide ranging and honed so that each piece shows many layers of detail, tone and colour. This exhibit is a series which has come from Felicity's life and burlesque drawing series and has a distinct toning of reds and pinks to match the subject matter.
