Tall tales and true, plus music
When was the last time you listened to a good story? The sort of yarn where you hung on every word waiting to find out what happened next? If you can't remember that feeling of intense interest followed by sadness, dismay, laughter or disbelief, here is the perfect opportunity to rediscover this traditional entertainment. Celebrate the art of storytelling at the third annual Barefaced Stories Music Edition show, where storytellers are paired with some of Australia's best musicians.
Barefaced Stories was created in by 2010 comedians and improvisers Andrea Gibbs and Kerry O'Sullivan with the idea of "…featuring some of the world's best solo raconteurs, from comedians to pro wrestlers."
Regular performances are held where storytellers take turns with nothing a microphone and their true life tales. Most performances have a theme but the December show is special as it the tales are accompanied by musicians from Odette Mercy and the Soul Atomics, Brent Hill and many others (check the Facebook page for the latest news).

The Barefaced Stories Music Edition is on at The Bird, one of Northbridge's popular small bars, and "a comfortable home for performers, listeners, dancers, drinkers and conversationalists to do their thing".
