The Bard on the Beach is bringing Shakespeare to Burwood Pavillion, this Friday 16th, Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th March. The Two Gentlemen of Verona will be starting at 7.30pm this Friday night and The Tragedy of RichardIII will be performed on the Saturday and Sunday evenings.

Leaving the beaches and heading west, Bard on the Beach is performing The Two Gentlemen of Verona, one of Shakespeare's first plays. It is a story of friendship and love, enveloping the audience in the mystical magic of Shakespearean times.



Being performed at the Burwood Pavillion, these entrancing evenings of performances of Shakespeare are in true Bard on the Beach style.

Bard on the Beach has been performing Shakespeare to the delight of audiences across Sydney since 2012. With performances by donation, the Bards' encourage all to attend and be entertained by some of the most brilliant acting talents of the day.

Patricia Rowling, the Bards Artistic Director, is so pleased that the Bard is heading west. "This year, the time was right to head west. It seems only fair, and with such a growing population the west and inner west we feel will be really responsive".



The Tragedy of Richard III will be presented on the Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th March, in Burwood. "Being on the school reading list for the HSC for the next few years, means it's certainly worth a look for high school students and Two Gents is very funny, very rarely done but a real undiscovered gem."

There are no ticket sales or ticketing "Actors pass among the audience at the end of show, asking for donations. We do recommend a minimum of $20 per person, to pay the actors for their work. There are no tickets, you cannot book a space, just come early and find your place on the grass and enjoy the show."

For seating, "bring a blanket, and low chairs if you like, and find yourself a spot on the grass and bring a picnic for dinner. There are lots of amazing local eateries for takeaway [in the Burwood area], just put your blanket down to reserve your spot first. Once the sun goes down, even on a very hot day, the nights can get very cold, because of wind through the park: so please bring jackets and blankets."

By Car**- Along Parramatta Road to Burwood and turn left down Burwood Road. (Please be aware that the Burwood area does have metered parking.)

By Bus - The 461 from Town Hall will get you to Burwood. The 492 from Drummoyne Fire Station.

By Train - Burwood Train Station is within walking distance.
