This time round theSky Giant Picnic will be held on 1 November 2015 from 11.00am - 5.00pm. The name of the picnic represents the theme for the Reserve for each month. This picnic, which is the third and final one, will again feature free deck chairs and picnic rugs along with a heap of other cool stuff.
Grown ups need not despair as there will be a heap of great entertainment for you too:
Get whimsical with Sousaphonics
Join in the interactive Hot Potato Band
Groove along with the Jazz and Blues band The Gulls
Marvel at the Bird and Bubble Parades
Be amazed by Heidi Hoops and her hula hoop or Adrian Dean and his magical ways.
There will also be some great talks to be inspired by - hear James Dive discuss his approach to art works including 'Make a Wish' (which will be a feature of the picnic, see below for further details).
The Cutaway will feature a huge Cha Cha Ride that is all about us exploring how kids love rides that adults are scared of! Titled 'Make a Wish' the sculpture will be around five metres in height and 25 metres in width. Unfortunately it is only to look at and not to actually ride on!
No need to pack a picnic if you don't wish - instead be impressed by food by some pretty well known names including:
Matt Moran (Aria Catering) with a range of dishes including, for only $12.50, the Moran's Family lamb with lemon myrtle aioli
Bourke Street Bakery who will have a wide range of dishes with the highest priced dish being a beef, beer and bacon pie at just $7.00
Churburger dishing out grilled beef or pulled pork burgers at $10.00 each.
Pop-up bars will also feature NSW wine, cider and beer. Please note there is no BYO alcohol.
Picnic fare will also be available with food trucks and coffee.
Of course it will be a busy day in the area so please consider all transport options. Walking, cycling and public transport is strongly encouraged as there are only 300 car spots at the car parking station. There are detailed transport options listed on the website.
