Free ferry trips launch to launch Barangaroo/Manly Ferry
Barangaroo is a busy and growing area of the city and Sealink's new direct Manly to Barangaroo service will provide a fast and efficient way for locals and tourists to commute to Sydney's best new landmark development.
The new service will start on Friday 8 September 2017 and to launch the service and to encourage commuters to use this service, SeaLink is offering commuters ten trips for only $8.90, so that's nine free trips! But please note the 10-trips eTravelPass is valid for use from the 8 -15 September 2017 only - but that is almost a week of free commutes.
The 'Barangaroo Fast Ferry' is the first ever direct ferry service from Manly to Barangaroo operating daily between Manly Wharf and King Street Wharf No.2, Barangaroo. You will travel on the 400-passenger jet ferry MV Capricornian Sunrise, the largest ferry on Sydney Harbour and the only jet propelled ferry.
The ferry service will depart Manly every 30 minutes during week day peak hours from 6.45am with the last service departing Barangaroo at 7.15pm. During week day, non-peak hours and weekends the 'Barangaroo Fast Ferry' will depart every 60 minutes.
The ferry service will use a quick and easy to use ticketless system. Visit the App Store or Google Play Store on any mobile device, download the Captain Cook Cruises app, create an account, purchase the Barangaroo – Manly Launch Special eTravelPass, then tap and go when boarding.
The cost after this opening special will be $8.90 per adult and $6.00 per children, or an 11-Trips eTravelPass for $82.50. Two fast vessels operate daily, including the 400-passenger jet ferry MV Capricornian Sunrise, the largest ferry on Sydney Harbour and the only jet propelled ferry.
As well as being great for locals, this we a boon to tourists and family day trippers. Manly is home to surf beaches, some great walks and cafes and bars, while Barangaroo is Sydney's newest harbourside precinct with restaurants, bars and shopping and Barangaroo Reserve headland park. There is access to Wynyard Walk and then it is only a 6-minute walk to the city.
