When my friend and I visited Switzerland in 1980, I was surprised to see a poodle in the coffee shop at the table next to us, eating with its owner. Obviously, commonplace in Switzerland in those days, yet a far cry from what Australia was permitting. Thank goodness legislation is now allowing avid dog owners to bring their beloved fur friends into public spaces, after all, they are part of the family.

Toowoomba came about by a couple of good friends, who put their ideas together for a chic bar with a cosy, friendly feel and an animal sanctuary out the back in the beer garden for your fur buddy. Both areas provide a spacious venue for special functions and get-togethers with friends. Bar Wunder is casual and comfortable and very inviting after you walk through the front door.

The menu is for easy eating, nothing too heavy for the stomach and includes gluten-free and vegan meals, including Toasted Sandwiches, Bratwurst, Burgers and Rolls, Snacks, Hot Chips etc and wholesome Meat, Cheese, Vegan Cheese and Chip Platters. If on the run and not able to dine in, you can order to take away as well.
Bar Wunder is coming out of the bleak COVID period with a great line-up of events –
