Recounting the adventures in Sydney and beyond! :)

Bar Asia, located in the heart of Church St Parramatta, is a modern and chic restaurant serving street food for Asia. Their menu isn't particularly extensive but caters for many South-East Asian cravings.
I visited Bar Asia on a Monday afternoon, and to my surprise, it wasn't bustling with office workers - which is always nice! The staff are extremely friendly and are always eager to provide you with their recommendations or specials.
For starters, I had the pork belly sliders. Of course, these sliders were not served on brioche buns, but on fresh, white, Chinese 'baos'. The pork belly was cooked well, and had the perfect balance of meat and fat. There was a piece of cucumber to balance out the juicy goodness of the pork, and lots and lots of hoisin sauce!
Next on my list was the grilled chicken vermicelli. I had a hard time tossing between the lemongrass beef vermicelli and the grilled chicken one, but decided to go with chicken in the end. The chicken was cooked and marinated well. I believe they used some sort of honey soy marinade, which is typical of an Asian recipe, but I've never had it 'Vietnamese-style' before. It was served with a generous mix of vegetables including lettuce, carrots, and assorted mints. Overall, the dish was refreshing and different to the traditional vermicelli noodles, but I'm not sure I would get it again next time.
To top it all off, I went with the Vietnamese iced coffee. This is something I'd definitely go back to Bar Asia for. The drink had a strong coffee taste and was perfectly balanced with sweetened condensed milk. Yum!
