If you're in the Manningham area and in the mood for a healthy day out with your pack – look no further than Bulleen's Banksia Park. Located on Bulleen Road, the park is adjoined to Heide Museum and its grounds; with the dog-friendly Café Vue atop. With no shortage of amenities from bike tracks to picnic tables (sheltered or unsheltered), fishing spots to wheelchair accessible bathrooms and their most recent installation, an off-leash dog park.
It's space where cute canines – and their cute owners alike come to run, play & meet new friends. They can also feel free to explore the almost 5-acre dog-friendly zone which is fully enclosed thanks to a
completely encircling fence (with secure entry/exit gates on either side).
The local council, together with Parks Victoria have also incorporated extra seating for owners as well as water taps for humans and doggie drinking trays beneath. They'll need it too, with all that stimulation. The Dog Park is at its most packed on Saturday arvo's when more than 20 dogs and their humans have been known to show. It's also a great opportunity to meet people from all over Melbourne as well as dogs of all breeds, shapes, and sizes.
So wag your tails on over.
Bring a picnic or maybe an umbrella, bring your friends, some toys and treats, and before you forget, bring some plastic bags along.
