Des' Mini Busses are getting ready for one of their biggest weekends of the year, the McLaren Vale BankSA Sea and Vines Festival .

For some it's a chance to sample some of the brilliant wines and produce coming out of the McLaren Vale region, for others it's just a chance to have some fun and get a little bit tipsy. Put it in your calendar for the June Long Weekend, 9-11 June 2012.

Local wineries, restaurants, and food producers are together to put on various events, embracing wines from the McLaren Vale region and seafood from the local coastal regions.

[SECTION]Experience Sunday & Experience Monday[/SECTION]

Experience Sunday is one of the main festival events. $20 gets you your glass for the day, and entry into three of your chosen experiences. The participating venues are:
Bent Creek Vineyards , Leconfield Wines , Dog Ridge , Oliver's Taranga Vineyeards , De Lisio Wines, Middlebrook Estate, Paxton Wines , Serafino , Parri Estate , Wirra Wirra .

The Relish and Delight programs are individually priced events, often featuring well known chefs or wine makers. They're a great way to learn more about the region while enjoying a delicious meal. The events are scattered throughout the festival, starting on Friday the 8th of June through till Monday the 11th. They vary in price anywhere from $45 to $180.

Monday is the final day of the festival, Experience Monday is a free event, and a chance to explore the Vales in a more relaxed fashion. You can spend a couple of hours or the whole day exploring visiting venues, there are food specials, tastings, and more, all that you can enjoy at your own leisure.

If you're planning on coming down for the day either get yourself a designated driver, or hire yourself a bus for the day. Licensed buses are not encouraged, and they're pretty serious when it comes to responsible drinking. Check out the Bank SA Sea and Vines festival website for the full program, and all tickets and pricing. You can also view the festival brochure online .
