South Melbourne has a new monthly market, with the team at South Melbourne Commons recently launching the Bank Street Market.
The market runs on the third Saturday of every month (check here to confirm upcoming dates), on the corner of Bank and Montague Streets from 10am – 2pm. It's an all-weather market with both indoor and outdoor stalls.
With a focus on handmade and vintage items, the market offers a selection of fashion, jewellery, kids' stuff and homewares, and is great for interesting and quirky gifts.
The first market on March 17th was a resounding success with live music, food and a good community atmosphere.
Clothing Skirts in interesting fabrics from Sheesh Handmade, women's clothing in bold prints from Alice Loves, hats and accessories from Zippity Knits and vintage fashion items (including a good selection of denim and shoes) at a number of other stalls.

Homewares and Gifts An eclectic offering of homewares includes crockery, glassware and some great gift ideas like journals produced using old hardcover books (by Found n Bound), and attractive mini-terrariums from Glasslands.
