Between Buderim and Sippy Downs, in the Sunshine Coast University precinct, local Sunny Coasters are noticing a lot of development going on. It's almost like a 'who dunnit' or rather a 'what's new, mate?', there's so much going on. Every week there's a new store opening and another vacant block being turned inside out and upside down with excavators. Not that we are complaining, the increased activities and retail developments mean we don't have to join the scores of holidaymakers in the malls and can rather enjoy being left to our own devices in our 'secret' little shopping areas.

First, we had Coles in Sippy Downs , which was absolutely wonderful - yes, really! Nobody really knew about it initially, except us and the uni students and they're not around half the year anyway.

And, now we have Banjo's Bakery Cafe . I wasn't really too familiar with Banjo's, but have a girlfriend who 'swears' by their little mini sausage rolls. So, when I initially saw the Banjo's signage go up, I kept a watchful eye out every week for either an increase in parked cars, or of course the, to-be-expected, open doors. At last, my patience was rewarded!

This past Saturday my adventurous other and I got to experience a Banjo's Bakery Cafe. Banjo's Bakery Cafe appear to be a bakery franchise all over Australia, including Tasmania, offering everything from ' Hot Savouries to Fresh Salad Lunches - an excellent healthy option for Uni students as opposed to pizzas. I won't mention the totally decadent looking sweet treats , that were openly displayed, to tempt all and sundry.

Artistic bakery-fresh cakes and slices with everything from healthy? Carrot Cake to Rocky Road Slices - sweet treat temptations guaranteed to make a grown man crumble.

Banjo's Bakery Cafe provide catering platters for groups, ideal for corporate or private functions. And, it's as easy as 1-2-3 with their ordering online system.

Hubby's choice for breakfast was the Egg Bacon Breakfast Pie, which definitely wouldn't have been on my repertoire of breakfast choices, but he said it was really, really delicious - so I guess the old story of never judging a pie by its crust - oops, I mean a book by its cover, is applicable here.

I ordered my usual Skinny Latte - I know, I know, I tend to border on totally boring with my choices. Banjo's Bakery Cafe use their own in-house premium coffee and advocate that their coffee is sustainably grown, making the world a better place, one cup at a time. This little adage somehow enhanced my coffee taste and without a doubt, I would have to say, it was one of the best coffees I've had in a long while.

As if the smell of Banjo's Bakery Cafe's freshly baked bread or the taste of their melt-in-the-mouth pastries wasn't temptation enough, visitors to Banjo's now also have the opportunity to earn reward points at every visit. Simply pick up a Banjo's VIP card in Sippy Downs, register your card online and start earning rewards.

  • Banjo's Bakery Cafe have an indoor and outdoor seating area and at this point in time, are blessed with plenty of parking - if we keep this little gem as a secret between ourselves, we might be able to keep the available parking status quo.

Tempt yourself with something totally delish at Banjo's Bakery Cafe - I can guarantee they won't be staying a secret for long!
    It's definitely all in a Banjo's day!
