Banjara's Indian Café is located in Glenferrie Road, only a short walk from Malvern Railway Station. It looks a little small however there is a reasonable amount of seating inside, and if it's too busy or you don't have time for a sit-down meal, takeaway can be prepared. The serving staff is friendly and the atmosphere is quite nice – light music is played in the background, but not too loud that you can't hear yourself speak.

You can choose whether your dish is prepared mild, medium or hot, however the mild is bland even for non-Indians, so I'd recommend going for at least the medium.

It is not a predominantly vegetarian establishment but does offer a sizeable range of vegetarian options, all reasonably priced (between $9.50 – $11.50 per meal) so there will be something for everyone.

The meals don't come with rice, so you'll have to order a side of rice – I'd recommend a serving of rice between two people, as they are quite large.
