Bangkok Snap at Churchill Centre is part of a chain of restaurants specialising in Thai cuisine. It was very popular with a huge crowd present when we visited.
The roti for the Krungthep Roti (Matabuk) was crisp and light, and the chicken breast filling was not dry. The heat of the filling is suitable for most tastes, and while banana was included it did not make it taste too sweet. Served with the dish was an Ajard dipping sauce to add a tangy flavour to the dish.

The shrimp and crab filling of the Net Spring Roll retained some bite, and the rice noodle ‘skin' made the exterior crisp and light. Some freshness was provided by a small serving of salad. Accompanying the dish was plum sauce that did not taste too sweet.

One of the dishes listed under the Crispy Chicken Lover selection, the fried chicken in the Pak Boong Gai Grob had juicy flesh set off nicely by the crisp coating. The morning glory mentioned in the dish’s description is water spinach, which retained some texture and had a vibrant green colour. The soy bean, garlic and shiitake mushroom sauce gave the dish a delightful savoury flavour. Its consistency was that which did not mar the chicken’s crisp coating.

Their Deep-fried Soft-Shell Crab had pieces of soft-shell crab of a generous size, which were fried to golden-brown. Grated carrots in the accompanying salad provided a contrast of texture and the Thai style salad dressing drizzled over them had a creamy taste that was not too strong. In addition to sweet chilli sauce, a lemon wedge also came with the dish.

Though listed as an entrée dish, the portion size of the Moo Ping (Grilled Pork Skewers) was fairly generous. The pork used for the dish was juicy and cooked sufficiently to give it a charred flavour. The chilli dipping sauce had a nice kick to it without being too hot. While not mentioned in the menu’s description, the skewers were served alongside a side salad.

The restaurant had a casual feel, with diners having the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. Booking ahead is advised to ensure you don’t have to wait for a table.
