I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.

Tasty Thai treats are on the table at the recently opened
Bangkok Nights. The team behind Sydney's @Bangkok restaurant were asked by a friend to open a store in Newcastle and after finding and fitting out a space in 2020, they opened their doors in March 2022.

The
menu is extensive containing the usual offerings of
Pad Thai and satay skewers as well as more traditional
authentic specialities such as
Jim Jum,
Yen Ta Fo and boat noodle soup. There are some dishes that are suitable for those on gluten free diets and vegetarians can choose tofu as their protein in the Wok and Curry dishes.

In general, there is a hot & spicy element to most of the food but anything that has more chilli is noted on the menu. There doesn't appear to be a specific children's menu but there are dishes that many child would enjoy.

Bangkok Nights is fully licensed, with beer on tap, beer towers and a cocktail list. The staff are friendly and the service is quick, we were served our entrees and mains at the same time. If you want to spread your meal out it would be best to order each course separately.

The beer garden holds up to 50 people and there are plans for live music in this area on summer weekend evenings.
