Enjoy an indulgent culinary tour of Afghanistan

In the heart of bustling Port Adelaide, you'll find Bamyan Hotel, a delightful charcoal kebab house, offering a tantalising selection of traditional Afghan dishes.

Step into Bamyan Hotel (a reference to owners' hometown in Afghanistan) and you will be impressed by the warm and inviting dining room, highlighted with exotic Persian rugs, an opulent chandelier and rich burgundy and deep brown tones.

In this unique space, you and your friends and family will be taken an indulgent culinary tour of Afghanistan. Featuring influences from Iran, India and Mongolia, Afghan cuisine has a unique style of its own.

The cuisine embraces chillies, saffron, garam masala and pepper from India; refreshing coriander, mint and spinach from Persia and hearty dumplings and noodles from Mongolia. Many dishes also feature the use of fresh pomegranates, grapes, dried fruits and nuts.

Bamyan Hotel offers a great selection of rice dishes including the signature Biryani and Palaw, delicious grilled kebabs (including tikka, shami, alfaham and wing varieties) and luscious lamb, chicken and kufta curries with delicate spiced flavours.

You can create your own dish and include additional freshly baked naan, hummus, steamed rice and chips.

The mantu is another favourite - it is a hearty meat-filled dumpling served with a tangy tomato and yoghurt sauce. Bolani, which is similar to a quesadilla, is a great snack option as is falafel and wraps. Roasted whole chicken and fried chicken can also be included as part of your feast. In addition to the selection of sweets (baklava and jalebi), there are various kids options, family specials and traditional Afghani drinks (such as Doogh) available as well.

After your meal, you can relax with a game of pool and or unwind with your friends and family in a dedicated space with comfortable floor cushions.

Bamyan Hotel is more than just a restaurant, it is a place to immerse yourself in Afghan culture and celebrate with friends and family.

A function room and specialised banquets are available for events of all sizes, including wedding receptions and birthday celebrations.

You can take advantage of affordable accommodation onsite. Rooms include a television and guests have access to a shared bathroom and a shared kitchen.
