along Currie Street is a good place to enjoy drinks and Korean dishes with a cross-cultural twist; BA:M is an acronym for 'bibim and mingle' (bibim is the Korean word for mix). Aside from their main menu, BA:M also has a selection of dishes that can be enjoyed during lunch time.

One of the lunch specials, their Bibimbap has an option of using green tea soba noodle as the base rather than the usual white rice. The green tea soba noodle was cooked perfectly and the Beef Bulgogi we chose was cooked just right. Freshness was provided by the melody of vegetables and the chilli sauce added a bit of spice. As with regular Bibimbap, it is best to mix everything in the dish thoroughly to infuse the ingredients with all the flavours.

A good thing about the Korean Fried Chicken served here is that diners can choose to order a half-and-half serving at the regular price. Usually you have to pay a bit more to have more than one flavour. All the pieces of chicken were fried to golden brown, with the crisp coating contrasting well with the flesh. Out of the two sauces we chose, Sweet & Spicy and Garlic & Soy, our favourite was the Sweet & Spicy due to it having a good amount of spice. However, the Garlic & Soy flavour was also delectable with its sweet-savoury flavour.

Grilled Pork Udon is another dish on the lunch specials menu. This is a dish that is typically seen at Japanese restaurants. Though we thought this dish was a bit oily, the pieces of pork were still cooked to perfection and imparted a smoky flavour to the broth. The udon noodles were cooked al dente and complemented well by the enoki mushrooms and spring onions. It is best to enjoy this dish slowly as it is served piping hot.

The wooden walls of the restaurant gave it a cosy feel and there was a fair amount of seatings. BA:M's location in the Adelaide CBD makes it a convenient place for office workers and university students to drop by if they have a craving for Korean food.
