Balmoral Swim is one of the few open water races to be held within the beauty of Sydney Harbour, making it a safe event for all comers. The event includes a 1k swim, school relays and a junior event. An awesome new 5km event for ages 15 and up.



The is a family-friendly open water, charity event raising funds for the Children's Cancer Institute. It is a unique event, as it is one of the few swims held within the safety and beauty of Sydney Harbour. A great event for all comers.



The swim is organised completely by volunteers, most of whom are members of the Balmoral Beach Club. However, the entire local community gets behind the event to make it happen. Mosman Council, HMAS Penguin and the Balmoral Sea Scouts all lend a hand and the event is also fortunate to have the support of a generous group of sponsors; Allianz (Platinum), Medlab (Silver) Audi Mosman (Gold), URM(Gold), Edney Ryan (Bronze), Jeckra (Bronze) Raine and Horne Mosman (Bronze), Mortgage Choice (Bronze) and oceanswims.com (Supporter).

Children's Cancer Institute is the proud beneficiary of funds raised to date, with a total of $815,134 being donated. Children's Cancer Institute is the only independent medical research institute in Australia wholly dedicated to curing childhood cancer, research into the causes, better treatment, prevention, and cure of childhood cancer.



This year, "the 27th swim" is being held on Sunday 18th March 2018.

There are trophies and prizes to be awarded to swimmers who have raised money for the Children's Cancer Institute Australia. Prizes are also awarded to winners of each race/category.

And if you are not a swimmer, you can still be part of this community event. Enjoy entertainment from the Royal Australian Navy Band playing in the Rotunda; visit the mock laboratory from the Children's Cancer Institute, or indulge in the fare from numerous food stalls.

Free shuttle buses from carparks are available for competitors and spectators.
