Situated on Balmoral Road, Dernancourt, has recently undergone a make-over so that it is now an all-in-one family entertainment area. With wide grassed areas, playgrounds, sheltered eating areas, a drinking fountain, and even tennis courts available for hire and public toilets, there is something here for everyone.

The main playground area is designed for older children, including a long climbing frame that is a genuine challenge, a half-court basketball court and a spider web climbing frame.



Then there is a smaller playground designed for younger children, all under a sun shelter. The all-in-one equipment offers a colourful and entertaining diversion for the younger family members.

The grass areas are well-kept and expansive; one section even looks like a sporting oval (albeit without the markings). There are plenty of trees around to offer shade as well. The sheltered eating areas are large enough to accommodate a decent number of people, and their design is modern, not old and staid. There is also a barbecue available.



There is plenty of off-road parking available, and the play-ground area is set well back from all the surrounding roads. It is not uncommon to see parties and gatherings being held at this reserve across the weekend, with plenty of room for everyone.

A little piece of nature in the midst of suburbia.
