I love writing, art, music, food, finance, hanging out with my favourites & being a productive night owl.

Such a beautiful view, no bells or whistles needed

Balmoral Beach is in Sydney's lower north shore, in the Mosman precinct. As you can see in the photograph, it is beautiful. This sunny beach has a very relaxing atmosphere, especially in the afternoon. As the sun sets, the waters slowly darken and the boats glisten as they gently rock within the waves. Strategically placed benches mean that not only can you soak in the multifaceted palette of the sky, but you can also cuddle up to your significant other in comfort and enjoy the picturesque views.

The lovely little wooden benches at Balmoral Beach allow you to share any snack you like. We took a thermos of hot chocolate. The juxtaposition of the chilly winter eve with the hot chocolate made for a livening experience.

If you're hungry, you can pay a visit to the Bottom of the Harbour and pick up a delicious fisherman's basket. We added potato scallops to ours because when is one type of potato ever enough? When you're almost regularly on a diet and this is your "cheat" afternoon, the answer is never. I recommend that if you go down this path, that you indulge as the quality of food at the Bottom of the Harbour is fantastic. It's also relatively inexpensive, with the basket having cost only $22 and comfortably feeding two people. The salads were very aesthetically pleasing as well. We wanted something that would be easy to eat because there were a few happy families enjoying their dinner at the cafe itself. It was bustling with people, its popularity completely justified.

If you're looking for a more fine dining experience and are around, you can also check out the Boat House restaurant. It is gorgeous, but by the time we got there it was not open.

Now, if you're not from the area, you might think that getting to Balmoral Beach is difficult. It's actually quite simple and there are buses that go directly there. In any case, I firmly believe it's a trip that's worth it. Another benefit of the Balmoral Beach location is that it is just a walk away from Taronga Zoo. If you wanted to complete your perfect date by an evening zoo visit, you could do so with ease.

There are many other lovely things to do in the Mosman area. It boasts beautiful beaches, restaurants, walks and even the Mosman Art Gallery. If you're looking for a new place to go on a date, I recommend that you try Balmoral Beach.
