Get inspired at the Balmain Art and Craft Show 2012

Calling all art and craft lovers! The craft-illiterate and veterans alike will all get inspired by the colors, textures, designs and styles of a wide range of artwork collected from Australian and international artists. Now in its 17th year, the Balmain Art and Craft show will be held on from Saturda, 3 November till Sunday, 4 November at the heritage buildings of 2 Eaton Street, Balmain.

Don't miss out the art live auction at the Opening Night

The show will warm up with an exciting Gala Opening Night event on Friday, 2 November from 7:30pm-11:00pm. You will be among the first to contemplate and purchase the diverse selection of contemporary art, sculpture, craft from local and international artists. For the treasure hunters and art collectors, don't miss out on the art live auction held on the night; items such as exquisite jewellery, VIP experiences and sport and luxury escapes are waiting for you to discover its beauty and wealth.

The Diversity of colors, textures, designs and styles of the Craft Work

Each year, as part of the tradition of the B.A.C.S, a nominated artist and his/her artwork will be featured as the theme of the year. This year, Betty Carrington and her beautiful piece "Doomboony" has been selected to be the face of Balmain Art and Craft Show 2012. She painted the piece of art with a delicate palette color and simple lines, creating an innocent and childhood memorising experience for the viewers. As an elder of the aboriginal community in Western Australian, Betty will tell you story about an "Owl", a significant animal in Aboriginal culture. So come and find out more about what would be the Aboriginal tales behind the art work.

A fun and creative haven for the future little ones

There are also many art and craft activities for the little future artists and artisans. You can paint your own plant pot, design a hand fan, build your own show bags, and get crazy at the Disco dance floor. As a new addition to the show, there will be a family movie night held on Saturday, 3 November at the Open Air Cinema. You will watch the classic story The Adventure of Tin Tin at 7:30pm.

There are still more to see and discover. So for more information please log on their website to get a first glimpse of what are you going to expect at the show.
