Arts Centre Gold Coast
Direct from Cuba, the Arts Centre Gold Coast is the venue for a show that has taken Europe by storm with sell out performances from Sydney and Singapore to Berlin, Vienna, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Munich, Paris and London. Ballet Revolucion is the fusion of No 1 hits from Usher, Shakira, Beyonce, Enrique Inglesias, J-Lo, Prince, Chris Brown and more, with classical and contemporary dancers performing the infectious rhythms of Latin-America. It's billed as an "explosive, intensive, sensual and impressively athletic performance, full of raw energy with a distinctly Cuban flavor." It comes together to offer the audience a mix of contemporary dance, brilliant ballet, powerful street dance and hip hop, in what sounds like real Ballet with Attitude. For a peak at their style, watch the YouTube video

It is showing at the Arts Centre Gold Coast between 3 & 6 July 2013. Show time in the evening is 8pm and the Sat matinee begins at 2pm. Prices range from $64.90 up to $94pp (plus a booking fee). The show lasts for 90 mins (20 min interval). There are 5 performances only on the Gold Coast, so book your seats sooner than later. Brisbane, Melbourne & Perth are the other locations on offer. Purchase Gold Coast performance tickets here.

The cast and the live band have been brought together under the original eye of the "Creatives" and the result is "Unbridled energy, passion, athleticism and infectious joy" (The Stage, UK). The Daily Express, after sold out performances in London, summarized the show as: "dazzlingly fast-paced, humorous and sizzling hot blooded".

If you are looking for a show with a very different approach to dance, then check out what this international dance company can produce. All I can say is: Vive la revolucion.

The video is very good; it looks like a fusion of ballet and street dance.
