It is Sydney's turn to premiere
Ballet Preljocaj's Snow White at the Opera House this June for a strictly limited season.
This awaited return to Australia by international dance phenomenon
Ballet Preljocaj comes after the sold-out season in Brisbane back in 2016. This version of the famous Brothers Grimm fairy tale is an extravagant production for adults and tickets will sell fast.
A full-length ballet, this show premiered in 2008 and has been travelling the world successfully ever since. Playing in the Joan Sutherland Theatre at the Opera House you will be wowed by the sexy, contemporary costumes, which have been designed especially for this darker and more wicked version of Snow White.
French choreographer, Angelin Preljocaj has brought forth a striking spectacle in this sexually suggestive version of Snow White, complete with abseiling dwarves. Choreographed to Mahler symphonies, the retelling of the story is full of the menacing features of the original fairy tale.
With the extravagance of the costumes together with the sets by Thierry Leproust, this version of Snow White brings the outrageous wickedness of the evil stepmother to the fore.
This is a must-see ballet, it won a Helpmann Award for best ballet during the Brisbane season. It will be one of the most spectacular shows you will see at the Sydney Opera House this season. Purchase your tickets
