Ballet lessons are a fantastic form of exercise and discipline and a great way to have fun while meeting new friends. The number of dance schools holding ballet lessons in the Brisbane region is extensive. Below are a select few that are both affordable and local.

JJ's Tiddlywinks Dance and Play Café
Located in Nundah, Tiddlywinks provide dance classes for children up to 11 years of age. Their combined Jazz/Ballet class is held on Wednesday afternoons for children aged 3 to 5 and 6 to 9 years. A trial lesson costs $13 or pay full term fees of $10 per week. The atmosphere at Tiddlywinks is relaxed and playful. Tiptoe Dance
Tiptoe classical dance is located at the Coorparoo School of
Tiptoe Dance
Arts for children aged 3-5 years. The school is essentially an introduction to ballet and dance preparing them in advance for a larger school. There are three classes running every Friday morning for 45 minutes each - Tiptoe Tulips (3 to 4 years), Tiptoe Teddies (4 to 5 years) and Jump & Gym (4 to 5 years). Seriously Dance
Seriously Dance have a great philosophy, part of which is "we believe that each student is to be appreciated and respected for their individual talent and personality". Dance lessons are held at Macgregor State High School and there are several classes for the ballet fanatic. A classical ballet class for children aged 2-4 and 5-6 years and a contemporary and lyrical class ("ballet with no rules") for children aged 7-9, 10-12 and 13 years and upwards. Located at Kenmore, Sayers Dance Centre run beginner ballet lessons for adults every Tuesday morning at 11am. For pricing information email or telephone (07) 3378 4222. Centenary Dance Academy is another school providing ballet lessons for adults. Priced at $17.50 per class, lessons are held at their studio in Oxley every Tuesday morning from 8am - 9.30am.
