Writing and Illustrating the Digital Age

Ballarat Writers Festival

Hailed as the only Victorian festival to focus exclusively on children's and young adult literature, The Ballarat Writers & Illustrators Festival is a two day event to be held at the Ballarat Mechanic's Institute on Saturday September 1 and Sunday September 2 2012. The theme in 2012 is "Writing and Illustrating the Digital Age".

The festival will open with keynote speaker Eva Mills who is an Associate Publisher at Allen and Unwin. There will then be two full days of panels featuring 27 authors, illustrators, editors and publishers, including Alison Arnold, Maryann Ballantyne and Nicolas Brasch.

There'll also be an opportunity to submit the first page of a manuscript for critique by a panel of editors and publishers from black dog books, Five Mile Press and Text Publishing.
