For those of you planning a day trip to Ballarat, or those of you simply looking for a place to stretch your legs on the way through, you cannot go past the Gold Rush Mini Golf, located on the Western Highway in Ballarat.

While not as fancy as the Blacklight Mini Golf at the Docklands, Gold Rush provides patrons with the old world charm of the traditional mini-golf game, which the older generations look back on with fondness. Boasting two 18 hole mini golf courses, one indoors and one outdoors, patrons are able to choose whether to golf among the gold mining rush, or among pirates. But don't be fooled by the appearance of simplicity. Quite a few of the holes are a lot trickier than they appear. For those of you who can't decide, the prices are so reasonable that you can pay to do both without it hurting the hip-pocket.

They even offer a selection of hot and cold snacks and drinks, as well as special holiday events such as their upcoming Halloween fun-packed dress-up day.

Operating hours vary between off peak and on peak seasons, so make sure you check the times before heading off, in order to avoid disappointment.

An enjoyable experience all round and one that shouldn't be missed.

Thanks Cora, that sounds quite fun. We found laser tag and bowling but didn't discover mini golf whilst we were in Ballarat. Must visit next time!
