If you're looking for something amazing to do, visit the Ballarat Begonia Festival in all its glory from Sat 7 to Mon 9 March 2020 from 10am to 5pm each day in 40 hectares of one of Australia's most significant cool climate gardens, the Botannical Gardens on Gillies Street North, N Ballarat. This is a FREE community event for all to enjoy.

While you're at the Begonia Festival, take the time to enjoy the rest of the Gardens that features a collection of remarkable mature trees and marble statues set amongst colourful bedding displays. The 40 hectares are divided into four distinct zones. There's the traditional gardenesque style in the central area with the North and South Gardens featuring open parkland and the Lake Foreshore Precinct alongside Lake Wendouree.
A hallmark on Ballarat's events calendar with around 10,000 people attending, this event is steeped in history. Held annually, the Festival has been a local tradition for the past 60 years, featuring gardening advice, talks, culinary delights, celebrity guests. family entertainment, children's activities and the popular Begonia Parade and Begonia Display. There's something for everyone, including a changing lineup of fantastic performers each day to keep you coming back every day throughout the Festival.

The 2020 PowerFm Begonia Parade is held at 11am (till 11.30am) on the Monday 9 March 2020 and not to be missed. Wendouree Parade will be lined in colour and entertainment provided by local schools, businesses, community and musical groups all vying for Awards in the following categories: Best Schools Entry, Best Community Entry, Best Business Entry and Best Musical Entry.
The Festival is not short on entertainment for you to take in when having a break from the Begonias. There are four stages (International Stage; Beaumont Stage; Market Stage & Potter's Stage) to choose from with a great lineup of performances running all day. Sit back and relax at any of the four stages and enjoy some fantastic tunes from local artists and performers from across the state.
Not short of food and beverages for sustenance, including a pop-up bar, you'll find all you need at the festival to enjoy under the shady trees. Grab a festival map, talk to friendly festival staff and volunteers if you have any questions and head out for a bit of a sea change to enjoy nature's blooms.
