It's beer again, the annual Ballarat Beer Festival for 2018 will be staged at Lake Wendouree, on the western edge of the lake opposite the Botanical Gardens, on Saturday 20th January. And you can bet it will be bigger and better than ever as organisers showcase over one hundred and fifty of the finest craft beers sourced from around the world.
Beer, beer and more beer. It's all about great beer at the Ballarat Beer Festival 2018.
The Ballarat Beer Festival will feature not only great beers but plenty of food & wine stalls and some great entertainment from the likes of The Vanns, Mast Gully Fellers, Butterfunked, Michael Meeking and DJ Doggler to name just a few.
There'll be Beer Trivia & Musical Bingo, Competitions including the People's Choice Award, the Homebrew Summer Slam and the #Beerllarat Selfie competition.
Professor Pilsner and Beer Diva Kirrily Waldhorn will host brewing education sessions, games & tastings including, at Midday - Meet The Local Brewer, at 1 PM - So you want to start a brewery?, at 2 PM - The women of beer, at 3 PM - You can't put that in my beer and at 4 PM - The future of Beer.
Of course, you'll have plenty of opportunity to get up close & personal with the likes of Barrow Boys Brewing, Bells Beach Brewing, Colonial Brewing Co, Grand Ridge Brewery, Moon Dog Craft Brewery and many, many more exponents of the brewers art.
All that good beer will be matched by plenty of eating options .
Don't worry if you're not big on beer. A number of local wineries will be on hand promoting their product and there'll be plenty of refreshing, non-alcoholic drinks available.

The sign says it all on the occasion of the Ballarat Beer Festival, Saturday 20th January from 11 AM to 9 PM.
The festival uses a token system where guests purchase tokens to use as currency for all food & beverages on the day. One token is valued at $2.
Tokens are not redeemable at the end of the festival but may be used at the Terminus Hotel, North Fitzroy or Foresters Pub in Collingwood where 3 tokens will get you a 'tasting flight' of 4 craft beers until 28th February 2018.
Ballarat is 115 Kilometres northwest of Melbourne, about a 90-minute drive via the M8. Alternatively VLine operate fast & frequent services from Melbourne (Southern Cross) to Ballarat.
A free Ballarat Beer Festival shuttle bus will run a gold coin donation service from Ballarat central to Lake Wendouree, stopping at the Mallow Hotel, Ballarat's premier craft beer gastropub.
