Indulge in a relaxing Balinese spa day at Cantik Spa in the city. If you enjoy feeling pampered or if you're holding tension, a spa package could be exactly the treat you need.

I recently tried out the Ubud in Love package at Cantik Spa's CBD location, within the Grace Hotel . Situated close to the QVB shopping centre, the hotel is easy to find along York Street. The package provides 2.5 hours of pure relaxation, including a foot spa, full-body massage, body scrub, sauna and facial for $250.

The spa's late-night hours make it easy to drop in after work or better yet, during an overnight hotel stay. I decided to indulge myself on a quiet Sunday afternoon and drove into the city for my spa day, parking at the Centro Cinema Car Park for a flat rate of $13.

The foot spa was an idyllic way to start the package, having my tired feet soaked in the warm water while I sipped on a soothing warm tea. I was then treated to a full-body Balinese massage that had me melting my cares away and forgetting about the city outside. Instead, I enjoyed the sounds of birds and piano music in the background, imagining the lush greenery and tranquil temples of Bali.

My therapist then applied a light body scrub and removed it slowly with warm damp towels, making my skin feel refreshed. Following the scrub, I meditated in the private infrared sauna and returned to the treatment room for a calming green tea facial to complete the serene afternoon. The spa package left me feeling blissful and glowy with super soft, smooth skin. My therapist Skye provided all treatments and was attentive and friendly.

But now it was time to sadly depart the Balinese sanctuary. To keep the relaxed vibes going, I took a quick stroll to Darling Harbour. It may not have the green foothills of Bali but the water-front restaurants and pretty blue harbour is a worthy substitute.
