The Bakery is a classic underground music venue, situated just a five minute walk from Perth CBD. This place has started to attract some fantastic names and tours of late. The Mountain Goats and The Black Lips have recently announced upcoming dates here, along with a string of US bands as well as plenty of Australian talent.
The Bakery is owned by Artrage inc, they describe the venue as, "A multi-arts, live performance venue which support local and national artists and promoters to present exciting entertainment programming."
The venue houses bands, live performances and visual arts shows, full listings appear on their website and are frequently updated. Some events are free, although most are ticketed, or pay on the door. Prices vary in accordance to who is playing etc.
The Bakery generally opens for gigs on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, with a gallery space open for the rest of the week between Thursday and Sunday from 12-5pm. Definitely worth checking the listings if you're visiting Perth as it's a cool venue and great to grab a beer and check out the latest talent.
