Baker's Exchange - Ripponlea Primary School (St Kilda East)

Want a tasty weekend filled with yummy locally made baked goods? Then look no further than at the Hank Marvin Baker's Exchange markets , where you will get to taste and meet some of Melbourne's top pastry, bread and cake creators over various pop-up locations this July.

So treat your sweet taste buds by sinking your teeth into innovative treats like light fluffy gluten-free doughnuts, served with your choice of oozy toppings like dulce de leche, custard, chocolate or coconut butterscotch from G-free doughnuts !

Or for something more savoury try the Malakoff" – a melted, crisp rye dome cut in half and filled with Swiss cheese served with pickled onions, Swiss mustard and a gherkin, courtesy of Swiss Made .

So pop down and buy from the Best Bakers on show, selling their finest sweet treats, bread and doughnuts all under one roof at the Hank Marvin Bakers Exchange markets. This is where you will find the new and upcoming bakers selling their most decadent treats!

This unique pop-up event is in true Hank Marvin style. The founder Paul Wesolek said the exchange was something fun for people wanting to get out and about this winter.

Hank Marvin Baker's Exchange next pop-up location is open from 9am -1pm or until sold out, Saturday and Sunday at Ripponlea Primary School at 25 Carrington Grove, East St Kilda.

New traders unearthed, such as Q Let Baker, G.free doughnuts, Cobb Lane, Kep Whitley, Babon Juice, Whoopie Cookies, T. With Cake, Salt n Caramel and Swiss Made just to name a few, will be at the various Bakers Exchange venues to bring something special and different!

I experienced the Bakers Exchange at the Woolstore and Co in North Melbourne, an industrial-style warehouse with plenty of communal tables to sit and enjoy, the Bay leaf catering stand was filled with delicious sweet treats offering take-home box packages. I couldn't resist taking a box home to enjoy later.

Face-painting and kids' fun, while grown-ups can match their eats to fresh juices, Hallelujah Coffee and maybe even a glass or two of bubbly. Entry is $2, with proceeds going to charity. You also go into the running to win a Baker's Box filled with goodies from the traders.

Baker's Exchange is open from 9am–1pm.
