They are hot, crossed and tasty

Look for this sign.

Bakers Delight, your local baker, is doing their bit for the bushfire appeal, and you can help by buying a six-pack of hot cross buns.

six pack
This is what you want.

They have started baking their famously delicious hot-cross buns. By buying a six pack for $7-50, one dollar from each pack will be donated to the bush fire appeal, with Bakers Delight matching the amount raised.

This benefit is at most of the 400 plus Bakers Delight bakers throughout Australia.

Franchisee of the Lilydale Bakers Delight, Lisa, said the donation project will run until 29 January.

The money raised will go to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief & Recovery Fund, so you can be assured that your donation will be well used.

Bowl of buns
These won't last long.

Some people like them cold, but I prefer to heat them up, slice them and apply lashings of butter, which quickly melts.

How good is this?

You can find a Bakers Delight almost everywhere, but the Lilydale bakery is in the Lilydale Market Place, in Hutchinson Street.

In researching and writing this article, three hot cross buns were consumed, and they tasted doubly delicious knowing I was helping a very worthy cause.

It's just amazing how many businesses are getting behind these appeals. PS. Good to see you getting down to the nitty griity in your research with the all important taste testing.
