For decades, the late Dame Elisabeth Murdoch generously welcomed the local community into her beautiful home at Cruden Farm in Langwarrin. Since her passing in 2012, the estate continues to open its gates for many community and charity events, and every opportunity to visit is a special one.
Raising money for not-for-profit medical research, tickets are priced at Adults $25, Groups of 10 or more $20 per person and children under 18 FREE. Tickets can be purchased on the day or online.
Gates will be open from 10am to 3pm and activities will include heathy cooking demonstrations, live entertainment, children's activities, live chamber music, baby animal farm and a Jaguar Club Victoria car display.
You will need to bring your own seating or picnic blanket, but leave them in the car when you set out so you can stroll at your leisure around the perfectly maintained gardens and lake. Lose yourself in the secret garden and smell the roses - literally - next to the awe inspiring Cruden Farm homestead.
Other activities include raffle and silent auction, health talks and presentations by gardening experts throughout the day.
Fresh produce, premium wine and refreshments will be available, in addition to a sausage sizzle. Picnics are most welcome.
There is free onsite parking at Cruden Farm, which is located at 60 Cranbourne Frankston Road. Enter from Cranhaven Road, Langwarrin.
