The Baked Poetry Café in Peregian Beach is fantastic for its continental bread, cakes, ice cream and deli. It's also a great place to have a meal in and to enjoy the very continental, German Frühstück (breakfast) and the more international lunch menus.
Owner, baker, genius behind Baked Poetry, ideas man, German version of Basil Fawlty, Robert, was born in Germany but has lived in Australia for over two decades. He has brought with him old continental and some family bread-baking secrets and uses only fresh and natural ingredients. His sourdough starter bread is made out of the same recipe that was used when the premises first opened in 1998.
Baked Poetry Café also makes premium quality, only natural, Italian gelati style ice cream on site in four delicious flavours. The cakes are heavenly and the bread, traditionally European and delish. The deli has a lot to offer from smallgoods, to local and imported cheeses, to dips and antipasti, to miscellaneous extras, such as Zwieback, Pumpernickel, Quark, Mozart Kugeln, Spätzle and many more delightful, mouth-watering goodies.
Located in beautiful Peregian Beach, it's only a stone-throw away to walk off whatever little bit of indulgence partaken in.
