A beautiful harbourside dining experience
Baia, meaning bay or cove in Italian, perfectly describes the aura of this beautiful harbour side restaurant. Located on Cockle Bay Wharf in Darling Harbour, the restaurant cum bar offers stunning views overlooking the water in an area bustling with activity and energy. There's plenty to do around here including the IMAX theatre, jet boat rides, which by the way are really fun and beware you'll get drenched! and a lot more including museums, the Chinese garden etc.
The Baia is located in a prime location and the dark wooden furniture inside and outside as well as an elevated area with such an amazing view, exude class and finesse adding to the overall experience. The waiters, appearing like magicians out of thin air were always eager and ready to serve you and ensure you were always comfortable.
The sunset menu including a glass of wine, and three courses is only $35 per person and there is a variety of delicious choices on hue he menu. They also offer special lunch packages for $20 per head including a drink, a main meal and coffee which is a great deal.
Offering traditional Italian meals, Baia is open for breakfast from 8 am to 11:30 am and lunch after noon. There's a special late night menu, cocktail menu, kids menu and dessert menu too offering the best homemade desserts by their pastry chefs. You'll find something for any time of the day.
Baia is also easily accessible by public transport but free parking is also available. Furthermore, when you have nowhere to go for a bite late at night, Baia the Italian is open.
They also have various rooms for various people and events including the lounge area, al fresco dining area outside and inside, renaissance dining area, and private room. For private functions, bookings can be discussed, with standing cocktail capacity about 100 people around the bar area, 60 people in the elevated sit down area, and total capacity of 350 people, so it's not small!
Overall, a very enjoyable experience and the food was delicious.
