I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.

They Are 'Amazeing'
A short drive inland from Port Macquarie near Wauchope is Bago Vineyards and Maze. The grounds of this family owned business are beautiful and spacious and there is a lovely welcome when you enter the tasting area.
The first Chardonnay vines were planted here in 1985 and there are now 10 hectares of vineyards at the foot of the Broken Bago mountain. There is a small but varied selection of wines that are priced from $15 a bottle, the Spritzy Chardonnay went well with the cheese platter. The wines are also available by mail order. All the produce in the shop is from the local area and is of high quality.
There is a fee of $10 an adult and $7 for children to enter the maze which is the largest in New South Wales. It takes from 20 minutes to 1 hour to traverse the 2,000 metres of pathways winding through the native hedges.
After tastings relax on the deck under the pergola with coffee and cake from the onsite cafe or sit in the grounds near the friendly kookaburras. Bago Vineyards are available for group tours, weddings and private functions.
