This gorgeous private beach has been serving locals and tourists alike since the mid-19th century, providing a stunning, scenic setting for those wishing to relax or even enjoy their wedding day.
You can find Bagno Elena just a short walk away from the metro station at Mergellina, the coastal region of Naples at the foot of the Posillipo Hill. The small fishing port charms many visitors through its calming and simple nature, while boasting Bagno Elena as one of its major relaxation spots.
It's very difficult to find a traditional, peaceful beach in the city, and so this one represents much more than just an opportunity to chill out as the sun hangs in the air until the cool of the evening draws in. Put simply, it's the perfect day trip away from all the hustle and bustle of the city.
That's because many visitors and indeed the locals are often forced to avoid public beaches, which are often unkempt and therefore unpleasant. For that reason, there is a 12 euro charge for Bagno Elena, but once you're there, it's clear to see why giving away this beach for free would be foolish.
There are snacks and drinks available at the bar on-site, but it's perhaps best to go to one of several establishments just a stone's throw away, where local fishermen have been selling their delicious catch for years.
After spending some deserved time chilling out on the many sun loungers available, you can let your feet melt away on the golden sand, before jumping head first into the refreshing blue water of the Gulf of Naples that lies ahead.
