Recently one of my co-workers was leaving the team and I was charged with organising his going away lunch. I had to pick somewhere that was pithing a 5 or 10 minute walk from the office, and also somewhere that offered some of the pub classics as my co-worker loves a burger or schnitzel. Plus I wanted to go somewhere that I hadn't tried before, as one of my favourites things is trying new places out. Luckily , at the new Kambri Precinct at the Australian National University, ticked their boxes as well as mine.



is the classic pub meets awesome hang out. It is a place to go to enjoy a cold bevvy and a bite to eat while overlooking Black Mountain and Sullivan's Creek. The decor here is simple with a large indoor space filled with light from the floor to ceiling windows and plenty of outside seating which will be perfect in summer. The simplicity of also extends to the menu, which is simple, offering burgers, salads, pasta dishes, schnitzels, and a few steaks - basically everything you expect from a pub!



With a number of classic pub options on offer, I ultimately decided on the Pulled Pork Burger with onion jam and slaw. I originally wanted the fried chicken burger but I was having chicken for dinner so instead, I went with the pork. It was a good choice. The pulled pork was tender, while the slaw was crunchy and a little creamy, and the chips were super crunchy. Although I have to admit that there was a little too much food for me and I didn't end up finishing my meal, despite how delicious it was.

After we finished our meals, we all agreed that ticked all our boxes and that it was a good choice!
