Discover a paradise for kids and an oasis for parents
From parents of young children, you often hear the complaint that it is difficult to find a venue that caters to both adults and children in the areas of food and entertainment. Parents want somewhere that the kids can play in a safe environment, while they are able to catch up with friends and family for a coffee or a meal.

The Backyard Moorebank Sports Club Sporties
Welcome to The Backyard at Sporties

Moorebank Sports Club (known locally as Sporties) has addressed these issues and has come up with their award winning* space "The Backyard". It is unique to south west Sydney and it incorporates play equipment, small animals, vegetable and herb gardens as well as plenty of seating and tables for the adults.

For the kids there is a pirate ship climbing gym with slides, numerous cubby houses and a large sand pit complete with toy trucks, all under a shade sail.

Across the wooden bridge you will find the rabbits and chickens in their comfortable pens. Also, have a look for Peter the goat; if he is not in his pen, he may be out grazing on the sports field.

Parents can relax in the knowledge that their children are playing in an enclosed space and are close by at all times.

For the adults there are large pergolas to sit under, with plenty of space for prams or large groups . If only The Backyard was here 10 years ago, my mothers group would have loved it!

There are many seating areas to choose from - inside or outside, at tables or lounge areas , near the play area or further away.

Parents can grab a coffee from the café and a kid sized milkshake or a babyccino for the little ones. The café also serves sandwiches, wraps, light snacks such as pies, hot dogs, melts and quiches and of course some sweet treats. They even offer fairy bread - how much fun is that! Check out the café menu here.

For lunch and dinner the Indulge Brasserie has an extensive menu. From snacks like wedges to seafood, salads, gourmet burgers, pasta, steaks or the Indulge Signature Dish of Greek Style Slow Roast Lamb Shoulder, there is plenty to choose from.

The Kids Menu includes tempura fish fillet, chicken tenderloins, crumbed calamari rings, grilled beef sausage, mini cheese burger, mini roast and spaghetti.

I can highly recommend the tasty chicken, bacon & avocado salsa burger as well as the delicious pulled pork roll with cabbage slaw and smoked aioli.

With a great children's play area, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, great food as well as all the conveniences of a club - café, brasserie, toilets, baby change room etc. - this venue has it all.
