Are you tired of those supermarket eggs prices?

Do you want to cut down on food waste and learn how to live a more sustainable lifestyle?

Are you looking for new ways to fertilize your garden?

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions then you should consider coming along to the Backyard Chicken Workshop. The class is being spearheaded by Hannah Thomas from Chooks in the City. It will be held on Monday the 10th of April 2017 from 9.30am to 10.30am at Gosnells Knowledge Centre in Gosnells.

The informative session will teach people how to house, care and feed for their hens and will talk about all of the benefits and rewards of keeping chickens. Did you know that keeping hens is a really good way to recycle food? Chickens will happily eat your table scraps, which is a lot better than them ending up in a landfill somewhere.

It doesn't cost that much to set up a chicken coop. Once you have some birds they can benefit your veggie patch. They'll eat snails and you can use their droppings and left over straw as fertilizer and mulch.

And of course there are all the free eggs you can eat.

If you would like to come along to the Backyard Chicken Workshop please make sure to ring ahead and book your place as spaces as limited. To RSVP please contact the Gosnells Knowledge Centre on 9391 6000.
