Backyard Bonanza on Sunday 26 May 2019 from 9am to 1.30pm is going to be a HUGE affair at McPherson Park, 146 Denham St, Bracken Ridge, and all for FREE. It's expected that approximately 5000 people will converge on the venue to enjoy two stages of entertainment, children's shows, professional bands, community and school-based choirs, dance groups and instrumental ensembles.
This year there's a host of NEW Free Activities for kiddies and youth, and the whole family. Bracken Ridge Lions will be showcasing their new locomotive named Sunny, so be sure to check it out at the Bracken Ridge Lions Club's Miniature Steam Train Rides. Who doesn't love a market to browse through; there'll be one there, plus delicious food trucks on the ready to cater to your hunger pangs.
If you have a pooch that can do awesome tricks, or perhaps they have a unique sense of fashion and style or hairstyles; now is your chance to line them up and let the pooch parade begin. Spurtopia - Our Sustainable Living Story will be putting on two incredibly educational and fun workshops. Learn to Make your own Bean Sprout Farm and Wicked Wicking will be the two workshops running throughout the day, teaching you how to up-cycle materials while making pots and plants from recycled material. Franky Smart aka Claire Walters is your live band entertainment, so be sure to put your dancing shoes on!
